Jai Kim · 김원재
Fintech co-founder · former CPA (Australia)
Migrated to Australia in 1997. Spent 20 years in accounting as a CPA, then the last 10 building fintech — with first-hand experience across cross-border finance between Korea and Australia: remittance, FX, tax, superannuation, property, and moving back to Korea.
Why this site
Money between Korea and Australia is genuinely hard: two tax systems, two currencies, rules that change, and very little written by someone who has actually lived both sides of it. I moved to Australia in 1997, spent the years since working in cross-border finance, and am now thinking seriously about the trip back myself. This is a plain-language record of what I've learned — first-hand — across the whole journey, from planning a move to eventually moving back to Korea.
